Merging extreme sports with photography in the mountains, I had the opportunity to shadow Julien Roux for a weekend. Julien holds the world record for highlining, both for the longest distance and the highest altitude. In 2022, he crossed 2.7 km on a highline just 2.2 cm wide, and in 2025, he walked across a highline suspended between two hot air balloons at an altitude of 4,832 meters.
Highlining requires unparalleled balance, focus, and mental endurance, making it an incredible subject to capture through the lens.
